Azasan (brand names include: Azasan / Imuran / Azap) belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressants.
Azasan is used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases including:
rheumatoid arthritis
systemic lupus erythematosus
dermatomyositis and polymyositis
autoimmune chronic active hepatitis
pemphigus vulgaris
polyarteritis nodosa
autoimmune haemolytic anaemia
chronic refractory idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
ulcerative colitis
crohn's disease
It is also used for the prevention of rejection in organ transplantations.
Azasan Recommendations
Follow the directions for taking Azasan provided by your doctor. Take your medicine exactly as directed.
Azasan is usually given in doses ranging from 1 mg to 6 mg per kilogram of body weight daily.
