Bethanechol General Information
Bethanechol (generic name: bethanechol; brand names include: Duvoid / Myotonachol / Urecholine / Frosst / Urocarb) belongs to a group of drugs known as cholines.
Bethanechol is used in the treatment of acute postoperative and postpartum non-obstructive (functional) urinary retention and neurogenic atony of the urinary bladder with retention.
It relieves difficulties in urinating caused by surgery, drugs, or other factors.
Bethanechol is manufactured by Cipla.
Bethanechol Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Bethanechol exactly as directed.
The usual recommended dosage is 10mg - 25mg three or four times daily, taken half an hour before meals.
Bethanechol Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Bethanechol, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have Intestinal or urinary obstruction, recent myocardial infarction or recent intestinal anastomosis.
