Flavoxate General Information
Flavoxate (generic name: Flavoxate) is an urinary antispasmodic medicine.
Flavoxate is used in the treatment of conditions which cause muscle spasms of the urinary tract.
Flavoxate is indicated for:
symptomatic relief of dysuria, urgency, nocturia, suprapubic pain, frequency and incontinence as may occur in cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, urethrocystitis/urethrotrigonitis.
Flavoxate relieves pain, burning, urinary urgency and frequency and other symptoms associated with urinary tract infections, bladder infections and prostate infections.
Flavoxate Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Flavoxate exactly as directed.
The usual dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age:
1 or 2 100 mg tablets 3 or 4 times a day. With improvement of symptoms, the dose may be reduced.
Flavoxate Precautions
Tell your doctor before taking Flavoxate, if:
you are allergic to any medicines;
you have a condition which causes a blockage of the stomach, bowel, or urinary tract; or you suffer from bleeding from the stomach or bowel;
you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Flavoxate Ingredients
Active ingredient: flavoxate hydrochloride.
