Ibandronate Sodium General Information
Ibandronate Sodium (generic name: ibandronic acid / ibandronate sodium; brand names include: Idrofos / Bondronat / Bonviva) is used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in women after menopause.
Ibandronate Sodium is designed to decrease activity of the cells that cause bone loss after menopause, with just one tablet a month. Ibandronate Sodium helps slow or stop the natural processes that dissolve bone tissue; it binds with and stays in your bones throughout the month.
In fact, Ibandronate Sodium is clinically proven to not only maintain bone density, but actually works with your body to help reverse bone loss. In clinical studies, 9 out of 10 women had improved bone density after 1 year on Ibandronate Sodium.
Ibandronate Sodium may also help lower the chances of breaking bones (fractures).
