Procrit General Information
Procrit (generic name: epoetin alfa; brand names include: Procrit / Eprex) is a synthetic form of erythropoietin, a glycoprotein hormone that controls red blood cell production.
Procrit has the same biological effect as the natural erythropoietin. It is indicated for the treatment of anemia (low red blood cell count) associated with chronic kidney disease, including patients on dialysis. It may also be used in patients receiving zidovudine to treat HIV, and patients receiving chemotherapy for certain types of cancer (non-myeloid cancers).
This products is a generic version of Procrit.
Procrit Recommendations

Procrit is usually given as an injection 1-3 times a week.

Tell your doctor before using Procrit, if:

you have any serious medical conditions including uncontrolled hypertension;
